Toohil Not Running For Congress; Endorses Meuser

State Representative Tarah Toohil (R-Luzerne) announced today that she will not be entering the race to replace Congressman Lou Barletta (R-Luzerne), who is running for U.S. Senate.  Instead, she will be putting her support behind former Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser.

“At this time, and after great consideration, I have decided not to run for congress. Rather, I will support the candidacy of a man who has extensive experience in both the private and public sector, Dan Meuser,” Toohil said in a release.

Toohil had been rumored to be considering a run for the seat.  Toohil is serving her fourth term in the state House.

“Furthermore, with Dan in Congress and me remaining in the State House of Representatives, I’m confident the District would have two strong advocates–on the federal and state level–who respect one another tremendously and who will work well in tandem advocating for the best interests of the people we both represent,” Toohil said.

State Representative Stephen Bloom (R-Cumberland), former federal prosecutor Joe Peters, and businessman Andrew Lewis are also considering runs for the open seat.

  1. Tanned, Rested and Rrrrrrrrrrrrrready to make a comeback…. Ladies and Gentleman, I give you Paul Kanjorski. KANJO KANJO KANJO!!!!!!!!

  2. I was hoping Rep. Toohil would run and win so she could push for the legilization of marijuana based upon her experience in the field. Now we may be stuck with Meuser who advocates for smaller government but made millions sailing scooters to seniors billing Medicare.

  3. Wrap. It. Up. No way in hell a Dem wins this seat, and with Toohil out of the way and on Meuser’s team? This is a one horse race. Soon we will alllllll be driving Pride scooters!

    1. Dem…Rep…no difference. We play both parties while the voters fiddle. After we fixed cash for kids, the airport cargo project and whitewashed the Luzerne judicial investigations with dumb FBI agents, la familia Zap still rules in the northeast. We are thinking that my cousin Greg would be a good fit here since he has experience at playing the locals. Also, he needs a job.
