Trump Plans Rally in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday

Trump in Harrisburg

Former President Donald Trump will make another trip to the Commonwealth on Saturday as he plans to give remarks in Wilkes-Barre.

Trump will hold the event at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza beginning at 4 p.m. with doors opening to the venue at noon.

It will be the former president’s second trip to the Keystone State since the attempted assassination in Butler, Pa. on July 13. Trump held a rally in Harrisburg on July 31 at the New Holland Arena at the Farm Show Complex.

Since the Republican National Convention concluded July 18, he has held only five campaign rallies, including the pair in PA.

“I think it’s a legitimate question why Trump’s not doing more events,” said one Republican strategist who requested anonymity to The Hill. “He’s not a young man himself. He’s going to need to step it up.”

He explained his general absence from battleground states by saying he’s “leading by a lot, and because I’m letting their convention go through,” referring to the Democratic National Convention, which does not begin until Aug. 19. “And I’m campaigning a lot.”

Trump will be live on Monday night in an interview with entrepreneur Elon Musk on Musk’s X social media network at 8 p.m. ET.

Similar events on the platform have been plagued by technical issues – most famously during Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis‘ presidential rollout. The hour-long interview was intended as the formal launch for the DeSantis campaign, but lost sound for extended stretches and thousands of users were either unable to join or were dropped.

  1. Calling the PA MAGA-verse: Start your engines, you too can be part of show. Dress up in your finest MAGA gear, stand in line for hours, buy MAGA junk merchandise (check the country of origin), hear the same, tired speech lines about millions and millions of people pouring over the border down in texas and heading here to NEPA to rape and murder your families. If it’ s good day manbe the donald will tell you how he’s single-handedly going to reopen the coal mines, (or maybe blame someone else for why he didn’t do it when he was in office).

I could go on, but if I can’t fall asleep I’ll just watch the rerun on pcn!
