Keeping Pennsylvania in the win column is critical to President Donald Trump’s reelection chances in November. To keep the state from flipping, his campaign announced a multi-million TV ad reservation for the Keystone State.
The topline is $100 million for six battleground states: Pa. plus Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Advertising Analytics provided PoliticsPA a more detailed breakdown. Trump is reserving $16.2 million in Pennsylvania from Sept. 8 through election day, the fourth most (behind Florida, North Carolina and Ohio). Within PA, $9.3 million is for the Philadelphia market, $3.7 million for Pittsburgh market and $3.2 million for Harrisburg/Lancaster/Lebanon/York.
An ad reservation is a plan, able to change. It does not mean that money has changed hands. Sometimes campaigns end up spending more than they reserved, sometimes less. However, in a state like Pa. which will be crowded with campaign ads from candidates and PACs, a reservation benefits the candidate by locking in some air space.
A senior campaign official told PoliticsPA the president isn’t taking any state for granted in the upcoming election, and that he is raising enough money to challenge Biden in states that traditionally lean blue.
While the Trump campaign likely maintains a cash on hand advantage in the race, former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign raised $141 million in June, outpacing Trump’s $131 million raised.
Biden campaign hasn’t announced their fall TV advertising reservations yet, it recently began its first TV ad blitz of the general election in six states, including Pennsylvania. Trump’s campaign is also currently up with ads in Pennsylvania.
Recent polling shows a tight race between Biden and Trump, although a few polls released in late June show the former VP with the edge in the Keystone State.
Biden’s most favorable numbers come from a New York Times/Siena College poll released in late June that had Biden with a 10 point lead, 50-to-40, in Pennsylvania. FOX43/Susquehanna Polling and Research released a poll a few days after the NYT/Sienna College poll showed Biden edging out Trump by 5 points, 46-to-41.
The Real Clear Politics Average shows Biden ahead of Trump by 7 points in Pennsylvania.

SAVE AMERICA – GO WITH JOE – DUMP TRUMP
No amount of money will save Trump. It’s too late to change course. While Biden will not win by 10 points, he will win Pennsylvania, nonetheless. Trump’s radical leadership “experiment” has failed abominably. It’s a wrap after November.
Be sure to get the $$ up front or Trump will never pay, especially when he LOSES.
Gulag….Do you really think Trump is spending his own money??? If you do, do I have a river called the Susquehanna that I will sell you at rock bottom prices! Gotta get out of that gulag a little bit more and start bowling.

So… ignore this story.
David…The Republicans are offering a blueprint of media buys meaning they are going to be spending the big bucks. Gotta spend donor money somewhere. They will not be spending less that planned. That you can take to the bank.
