Donald Trump most likely will be the 47th President of the United States.
Trump declared victory early Wednesday morning, after winning the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to give him 267 electoral votes – just three shy of the total needed to return to the White House.
Addressing his supporters early Wednesday from his campaign’s watch party in Florida, Trump said, “Every citizen, I will fight for you, for your family and your future.”
Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, 51-48, defeating the former Californian senator by 190,000 votes.
Bellwether counties Erie and Northampton which favored Trump in 2016 and President Joe Biden in 2020 went with the 45th president again in 2024.
Most polls indicated that the contest would be a nail-biter but the former New York City businessman defied the odds and the numbers to earn a second term in Washington.
Trump now stands to join Grover Cleveland as the only person to win the U.S. presidency, lose the presidency, then win the presidency again.
