Rep. Mark Critz (D-Cambria) has reported his strongest fundraising quarter since being elected to office, having raised $596,496 between April 5 and June 30.
The campaign raised $435,000 since the April 24 primary and had $428,000 by the end of the quarter.
“We have been building momentum since the primary and we are in a strong position financially as we head into the fall,” Critz said in a press release.
“Our successful fundraising effort shows that the people of Western Pennsylvania know that I am working to rebuild our economy and creating jobs for our region.”
Update: While his Republican challenger Keith Rothfus’ campaign raised less, at $400,000, the campaign reports that their cash on hand stands at $650,000, giving them a $200,000-plus advantage over the incumbent.
“Our campaign continues to gain huge momentum as we head into the fall,” Rothfus said. “I want to thank all those who opened up their homes and invested in getting out our message of lower taxes, less government, repealing Obamacare, saving Medicare, and empowering the job creators and the workers here in Western Pennsylvania so that we may leave a more free, more prosperous nation to our kids and grandkids.”
It is worth noting that Critz had to spend nearly every dime in a primary in the fratricidal race against Rep. Jason Altmire (D-Allegheny) in the redrawn 12th district, while Rothfus ran unopposed.

Let’s hope you are not in the teachers union.
DR-
Your group is collecting money from the Koch brothers and anti-middle class interests.
You seem to ignore the fact that these voters already have some form of PROPER ID. It’s called a voter Id card issued by the board of elections. This ploy is essentially a poll tax.
I believe Rothfus would make an great congressman as he believes in limited gov’t, and will watch spending and not increase taxes. Critz is obviously going to be beholdened to union bosses who are donating money from dues collected from members. I would be more comfortable with someone who got their campaign donations from willing individuals.
As far as voter ID, I have always shown mine so they know who I am w/o question. They have shown that 99% of people have SOME form of proper ID. It doesn’t need to be a Penndot ID. You need something to cash a check afterall.
I’m a teacher in the district but will not support critz because he works for only the unions not the whole district.
The only thing Critz is good at is raising money for himself he is never there for the people he represents!
When will he work for us?
That money came from unions more than likely, but if his new area has any common sense Critz will be gone!

KEITH THE CANDIDATE ROTHFUS: SHOW SOME COURAGE! DENOUNCE OPENLY AND BOLDLY THE TURZAI VOTER SUPPRESSION PLAN THAT DISENFRANCHISES WESTERN PA SENIORS! DON’T PULL THE PLUG ON THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF DEFENSELESS WESTERN PA SENIORS!!
Keith “Doofus” Rothfus, Pat Robertson’s golden boy….
Does Keith the Candidate Rothfus believe that by supporting the Turzai voter suppression law that denies African Americans and seniors in nursing homes their right to vote will guarantee him victory?
IT IS SIMPLE! WESTERN PA IS NOT READY FOR A 700 CLUB CONGRESSMAN. KEITH YOU NEED TO COME CLEAN ABOUT YOUR FEMA SERVICE AND YOUR SERVICE TO FAITH HEALER PAT ROBERTSON! QUESTION OF THE DAY FOR KEITH THE CANDIDATE, DO YOU SUPPORT TURZAI’S VOETER SUPPERSSION PLAN AIMED AT KEEPING WESTERN PA SENIORS FROM EXERCISING THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS?
Tea Party Keith is not congressional material. Come November he’ll join Missy Hart as a two time loser.
If $400,000 raised is “huge momentum as we head into the fall” according to Rothfus, then Critz’s nearly $600,000 raised is “huger” momentum by Rothfus’s own standards.
Too bad millionaire Keith Rothfus will just draw money from his wife’s family fortune to make up the fundraising difference…
