Wagner Hints At Gubernatorial Run

Wagner-WolfIt’s looking like Scott Wagner wants to run for Governor.

The State Senator makes that clear in his latest email to supporters.

“There is good news and bad news,” he writes. “The good news is that Governor Wolf’s term ends in 32 months. The bad news is we still have 32 months of Governor Wolf and his partnership with the public sector unions.”

Of course, his math assumes that Governor Wolf doesn’t win a second term.

“We need a Republican Governor in Harrisburg to work with the growing Republican majority in the State House and Senate to reform Pennsylvania,” he continues. “Many people are asking if I am going to run for Governor of Pennsylvania, and my answer remains the same: I am considering it.”

It’s clear that Sen. Wagner wants people discussing his potential candidacy. It is also possible that he wants to throw his hat in first to head off possible primary challengers. Conventional wisdom would suggest that GOP hopefuls should wait until after this year’s election to make their plans known, but Scott Wagner has never been one to follow conventional wisdom.

Wagner’s 28th district includes parts of York County.

  1. Scott Wagner’s no-nonsense, practical approach to government is exactly what we need, as opposed to the pompous, arrogant, you’ll like it or else diatribe we’ve been hearing for two years from this Governor.

  2. Some Trump parallels to be sure, BUT the Senator isn’t going to go off on personal, racist, or sexist rants that make him unelectable. Don’t underestimate him–could be just the breath of fresh air that PA needs.

  3. My husband and i felt really thankful when Raymond managed to do his basic research using the precious recommendations he got through the web page. It’s not at all simplistic to just happen to be freely giving key points that many men and women have been making money from. And we also acknowledge we have the writer to appreciate because of that. Most of the illustrations you’ve made, the simple site navigation, the friendships you give support to foster – it’s most remarkable, and it’s really aiding our son in addition to the family understand that matter is exciting, which is very serious. Thank you for all!

  4. Wagner isn’t running against Wolf. A lot of people think Wolf won’t run for second term, and Josh’s A.G. race is attempt to fill the slot.

It’s going to be a very contested primary.

  5. I’m no Wagner fan, but unless Wolf learns quickly how to govern, I wouldnt put it past this state at all to put that guy in the governor’s mansion. Can’t wait til the entire public school system gets privatized!

  6. You can’t be a teabagger governor in a purple state. Doesn’t Wagner know, they already tried that with Corbett? :-/

  7. Who really cares, this is Pennsylvania it seems like the more ignorant you are the higher probability that you will have a career in politics. Don’t worry. Soon I will take my family to a better state and I have about 45 to pick from.

  8. This dumb huckabuckk from York County has more testosterone than I figured. He’s a blithering idiot. He stands about as good a chance of being elected as Zombie Reagan. Spare us you self loving idiot.

  9. Scott Wagner would have my vote and I’m a Democrat. He is Anti-Establishment and that’s what we need.

  10. This reminds me of the bumper sticker Cheney-Satan 2008. I think a Wagner-Kane ticket would be the perfect antidote to sanity in 2018.

  11. WTF spambot?

Nothing says “conservative” Republican like building a business on taxpayer dollars.

  12. The mafia doesn’t care if the candidate ia a D or an R. They like Wagners…Jack was a Zappala stooge and niece Chelsa is the mob’s ditto…with no place to go since they bought off phony Fitz. Another Wagner, even if not related? Sure. The mob supported Corbett so this Wagner would be a good fit for goombah government.

  13. lol, dave reed? really? nfw. wolf stinks, but the gop bench in Pennsylvania is increasingly weak

  14. Someone like Dave Reed is a PA Republican in Harrisburg I could perhaps vote for for that office. Not this guy.

  15. So it’s either him or probably Mike Turzai that’s running against Wolf in 2018? Wheeeeeeee
