WaPo on PA Gov Race: 3rd Most Likely to Switch Parties

Tom Corbett upsetPennsylvania is climbing the ranks. The Governor’s mansion is now that 3rd most likely to change party control in 2014, according to the Washington Post.

Gov. Tom Corbett’s continuing poll troubles lifted Pa. up two spaces from its number 5 spot on WaPo’s April ranking. Also a factor: Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee’s party switch from indy to Democrat, thus negating that state’s place in the ranking.

Here’s the writeup from The Fix:

3. Pennsylvania (R): Gov. Tom Corbett (R) is in some early trouble. He trails Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D) by 10 points in a recent Quinnipiac poll. Being unpopular in a blue state against a top Democratic recruit is a recipe for potential disaster for the Keystone State Republican. He still has time to right the ship, but the early read isn’t good for him. Pennsylvania moves two spots up the line. (Previous ranking: 5)

The top 5 are:
1. Florida (R)
2. Maine (R)
3. Pennsylvania (R)
4. Arkansas (D)
5. Michigan (R)

  1. The Washington Post and Quinnipiac! Really? Anyone with an IQ higher than their shoe size would not pay attention to the propaganda put forth by either entity.

  2. The RSC lemmings will follow Corbett right over the cliff. The reason? Losing the the Democrats is better than having to admit they were wrong in developing such a weak and flawed candidate first as AG then to Governor. These jokers, especially the morally bankrupt Bob Asher, have led the PA GOP increasingly into darkness. Corbett goes next, then Toomey.
