GOP challenger Keith Rothfus is now a slight favorite in his race against Rep. Mark Critz (D-Cambria), according to the Washington Post.
They upgraded his chances Friday afternoon:
PA-12 moves from “tossup” to “lean Republican”
Critz is in a very tough spot right now, with Republican polls this month showing him slightly behind Republican Keith Rothfus. This district would have given John McCain 54 percent of the vote in 2008.
If there’s one candidate in Pa. who didn’t want to see a last-minute Republican push, it’s Critz. Western Pa. “Reagan Democrats,” who Critz needs to keep in his column, are the targets of countless GOP ads.
Election handicapper Larry Sabato rates the race as “leans Democratic.”
It’s already the number one congressional district in the nation as far as outside spending.

There will be a huge turnout in the district for Romney. These voters are not going to split their vote by going for Critz. Rothfus in a landslide.
Never count out Johnstown Rob. Even if you are a sell out voting against your families best interest. Thought the teachers learned from voting 4 Corbett…
I’m a teacher and I’m voting for my daughter over my union. Thats why I’m supporting Keith Rothfus.
The guy at the Get Go says everyone he knows is voting for Keith, so I guess Critz should just hang it up. It’s over people. That is pretty sound data.
Rothfus clearly has the momentum. My entire North Hills neighborhood plans to vote for him. The union hacks can’t stop this one!

Marcia, Congressman Murtha died after an unsuccessful operation. So shut your mouth and show respect, let the man who invested his life in Johnstown and in service to his district rest in peace. You and you’re tea party ilk are a disgrace and thanks for inspiring me to work even harder to defeat Rothfus.

Dear Marcia: Mr. Rothfus is a GOP Beltway made man. 1. He served under Bush during the Katrina fiasco. 2. He served Faith Healer Pat Robertson! The Washington Post, the Cook Report, The New York Times don’t vote in the PA 12th. Just ask Mr. Tim Burns, who was virtually declared a winner by the New York Times. Thanks for bad-mouthing Jack Murtha too. Have a good weekend Marcia. You won’t feel as smug on Tuesday night!
It’s time for a change and to have fresh thinking in government. It was quite ironic that after all those years in politics, Murtha left office because of a botched gallbladder operation @ Bethesda. Now the Murtha dynasty is coming to a close. This election will close the final chapter. It will be great to have Keith Rothfus, a Notre Dame graduate, as my new Congressman!
Hopefully the PA 12 will be smart enough to realize Critz will do nothing for them!
