Welch Pulls in Some Home Town Support

By Keegan Gibson, Managing Editor

State Rep. Dan Truitt

Wednesday is an important day for Steve Welch. The southeast caucus of the PAGOP is meeting is tomorrow at 6:30, and the Chester County native’s hopes of competitive bid for a state committee endorsement depend in part on how well he can muster support from the home crowd.

He got a boost today: Tom Hogan, the Chester County District Attorney and Pa. Rep. Dan Truitt (R-156) endorsed his campaign.

“Steve will be a loyal supporter of law enforcement,” said Hogan. “He understands that the role of government should be limited, but that one of those appropriate government roles is to protect the public by maintaining strong law enforcement.”

“We need a Senator that understands what it takes to balance a budget, make a payroll, and has had to make tough decisions on what bills to pay when times are tough,” Truitt said. “Steve Welch will be a leader that the people of not only the 156th district can be proud of, but the people of Pennsylvania can be proud of.”

“These are two of the finest elected officials I know,” Welch said. “Both Dan and Tom are fantastic representatives and I am honored to have their support. They understand that the career politicians in Washington are not willing to make the tough decisions that are needed today, since they are too worried about their reelection campaigns.”

  1. “Petty Smears” Bob? You are the KING of Petty Smears. Fortunately people have come to use your views a barometer. If you think a candidate is good, people run away. If you smear a candidate, he or she is worth a close look.

  2. Welch will be highly competitive vs Casey. Might even win. He has a surprisingly adept campaign team who know how to win and are just now hitting their stride with their guy.

Watch this one folks, Welch is the candidate voters are gonna date then want to marry…

  3. So why is Dan Truitt, a small businessman, a consistent Constitutional conservative supporting Steve Welch? Steve Welch is as far from Arlen Specter as can be.

    Petty smears won’t work…I hope.

  4. Welch supported Obama in the 2008 Primary, he gave money to and supported Sestak a rabid liberal, he has little of a real business resume…he is the incarnation of Arlen Specter,
