The Wilkes-Barre Building Trades Council, which represents unions in the building and construction trades, is the seventh labor organization to endorse Mark Smith.

Smith is a second term County Commissioner in Bradford County.

“Mark is an outstanding candidate from Northeastern Pennsylvania and we admire his commitment to stand with working families throughout the state. The Wilkes-Barre Building Trades Council proudly supports his campaign for Lieutenant Governor,” said Mike Rozitski, President of the Council.

“I’m extremely happy to receive the endorsement from such a great organization.” Smith said, “I am running for Lt. Governor to fight for the hardworking people of Pennsylvania, who deserve better than promises, platitudes and dysfunction coming out of Harrisburg. It’s time to get Pennsylvania working again.”

His other union endorsements include Boilermakers Local 13, Sheetmetal Workers Local 44, Wilkes-Barre IBEW Local 163, Williamsport IBEW Local 812, and Teamsters Local 529.

Smith is one of a crowded field for Lieutenant Governor. Also running are State Senator Mike Stack, Harrisburg City Councilman Brad Koplinski, and former Rep. Mark Critz among others, many of whom remain officially undeclared.
