Retire-o-rama: Several high-profile Pa. Lawmakers announced yesterday that they would retire at the end of next year: Sen. Jeff Piccola (R-Dauphin), Rep. Curt Schroder(R-Chester), and Rep. Ed Staback (D-Lackawanna/Wayne).

GOP Courthouse Gains: Republicans increased their control of Pennsylvania counties by 11 on Tuesday, picking up courthouses across the state and growing their total from 40 to 51.

Fumo Resentencing: Vincent J. Fumo, the once-powerful, now-disgraced state legislator, was resentenced Thursday in an extraordinary hearing to 61 months, six more than his previous sentence.

Welch for Senate: Steve Welch, the biotech entrepreneur and former congressional candidate, has launched the first attack of the new cycle – a web video that highlights United States Senator Bob Casey’s close ties to President Barack Obama.

Christine O’Donnell: The former Delaware Senate candidate visited Lawrence County Wednesday to keynote a mock political convention at Westminster College.
