PA-state-flag6The AFL-CIO unveils his picks, a Zappala supporter questions the latest Harper Poll and Santarsiero posts an impressive fundraising haul. Good morning politicos, here’s the Playbook!

Quinnipiac Poll: Clinton, Trump Lead Respective Primaries: In a head-to-head matchup, Hillary has the advantage over Donald.

PA-8: Q1: Santarsiero Raises Over $400K: The Democratic Congressional candidate’s fundraising haul was a personal best.

PA-8: Fitzpatrick Introduces Himself In New Web Ad (VIDEO): The largely unknown GOP front-runner takes voters on a ride.

Trump Sets Up Shop in Monroeville: The real estate mogul is opening his first office in the state.

Legislative Elections Update

SD-9: Democratic nominee Marty Molloy was endorsed by Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania PAC.

“We are proud to endorse Marty Molloy, a thoughtful, forward-thinking candidate for State Senate in the 9th District,” said Sari Stevens, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood PA Advocates and PAC. “Given the environment in our extreme, right-wing legislature, we need to elect strong allies like Marty Molloy to be a voice in the Senate for women and families. As an educator, Marty has seen the costs to communities of lacking sex education and family planning and we know he’ll stand with the women of Delaware and Chester Counties in Harrisburg. Additionally, Tom Killion, one of the original co-sponsors of House Bill 1948 – a cruel and extreme abortion ban – has one of the most anti-woman voting records in the House and we hope keep him from bringing that record to the state Senate.”

The 9th district consists of parts of Chester and Delaware Counties.

HD-202: The attempt by State Rep. Mark Cohen to kick Democratic primary challenger Jared Solomon off the ballot was exhausted when the PA Supreme Court rejected their appeal.

“There was never a case to be made here,” Solomon Campaign Manager Zack Arnold stated. “Unfortunately, it seems to be Mark’s plan to distract voters from the real issues we face in our community. Jared Solomon has continued to engage voters, highlighting his vision for a stronger, safer community. We will continue to work hard every day to earn their vote.”

The 202nd district is part of Northeast Philadelphia.

  1. Politico is putting Bill Shuster through the ringer again. Why no mention of that?

  2. Jared Solomon doesn’t care about the community. He’s just trying to attach a title to his name. Mark Cohen has been a dedicated public servant. He has worked hard to make sure that governmental services are being delivered to those who need it.
