With $2M COH, Toomey Stays Ahead of the Curve: Though his next election is 4 years away, Sen. Pat Toomey isn’t taking it easy. He has more than $2 million on hand, better than Bob Casey or Arlen Specter at this point in their re-election cycles.

Local elections updates:

Philadelphia Controller: Republican Terry Tracy will announce a bid, sort of, next Saturday the 16th. According to his campaign he’s, “Formally exploring the Office of Philadelphia City Controller with Special Guest Bishop Leonard Goins, Special Guest Ella Butcher, announcing Candidacy for Traffic Court Judge of Philadelphia, and Special Guest, Councilman David Oh.” Fundraiser at 4pm at Bonner’s Irish Pub.

Scranton Mayor: With incumbent Chris Doherty not seeking another term, Liz Randol became the first Dem to jump in. Her official kickoff is Friday at 5pm at Morgan’z Pub & Eatery. She worked for the Pa. Treasurer and Lackawanna County government, and also managed Kathleen Kane’s campaign for a time.

Harrisburg Mayor: Add another name to the Democratic primary ballot. Midtown Scholar bookstore owner and perennial candidate Eric Papenfuse announced his bid on Tuesday. He’ll face Mayor Linda Thompson and City Controller Dan Miller.
