6/10 Morning Buzz

Harrisburg Capitol stepsWe take a long look at state party endorsements in Pa. Plus we have the latest poll results for Gov and Prez. Good morning politicos, here’s the Buzz.

In Primary Endorsements, PAGOP Reigns Supreme: The past 20 years of state committee endorsements by both parties shows that Republican party carries twice as much weight in primaries as Democrats do.

Quinnipiac Poll: Hillary Has Wide PA Lead: Former Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton has solid numbers in Pa. She leads all Republican challengers, including former Senator Rick Santorum.

Quinnipiac Poll: Corbett Approval Still Low, Trails Dems: Tom Corbett continues to be his own worst enemy according to the latest survey from Quinnipiac. Thanks to low approval ratings, he trails challengers with paltry name ID. Schwartz leads the primary.

6/7 Ups & Downs: Can you remember the last time a big poll came out and it earned the Governor an Up arrow? Neither can we. Here’s who won the week, and who lost.

Politically Uncorrected: Death, Taxes and Penn State: Ultimately, the Penn State scandal, in all of its guises, is about us; our most cherished hopes, our deepest fears and our highest values. We care about it because it threatens those hopes, triggers those fears and attacks those values. That’s why it won’t go away soon or quietly.

Gas Industry Bullish on PA Jobs Estimate: The group, Keystone Energy Forum, will host a “Pennsylvania Natural Gas Summit” on June 14th to argue natural gas provides the state an opportunity to create new jobs.

Reader Poll: Which 2016 GOP Contender has the Best Shot in PA? Which of the currently talked-about hopefuls do you think would stand the best chance in the Keystone State?

Reader Poll: Don’t Back Jack for Guv: PoliticsPA readers, by a wide margin, don’t think former Auditor General Jack Wagner ought to run for Governor.
