Council 13 has unanimously endorsed Josh Shapiro for Attorney General, Joe Torsella for Treasurer and Eugene DePasquale for Auditor General.
DePasquale actually spoke to the committee in person before they voted.
“When leaders make policies, the people AFSCME represents are often the ones doing the work and making it happen,” DePasquale said.
“Council 13’s Steering Committee has voted to endorse candidates that not only will look out for the best interests of AFSCME members, but also the best interests of all working Pennsylvanians,” Council 13 Executive Director David Fillman said.
“Eugene DePasquale was instrumental in helping us fight back the misguided lottery privatization attempts a few years ago. We are proud to endorse him for Auditor General, just as we are proud to endorse Josh Shapiro for Attorney General and Joe Torsella for Treasurer.”
AFSCME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees) is the largest affiliate in the AFL-CIO. AFSCME Council 13 represents more than 65,000 employees in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
