Casey Endorses Dougherty for PA Supreme Court

Casey-DoughertyOn May 15, Senator Robert Casey showed his support for Judge Kevin Dougherty by campaigning with him at a senior living complex in Scranton.

“Judge Kevin Dougherty has fought to better protect our Commonwealth’s children and our most vulnerable citizens as a judge on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and as Administrative Judge of the Philadelphia Family Court,” said Senator Casey. “Judge Dougherty has demonstrated a deep understanding of the law and a high level of integrity.”

“The Pennsylvania Supreme Court would greatly benefit from his judicial experience,” concluded Senator Casey.

Along with Senator Casey’s endorsement, Dougherty touted the support of several Pennsylvania politicians and organizations, including: former Governor Edward G. Rendell, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, PA Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, Northampton County DA John Morganelli, and many more.

Those elected officials who have expressed their support for Dougherty have been doing robo-calls, door-knocks, mailings, and public appearances.

“Words cannot adequately express my gratitude to the many respected state leaders who continue to give our campaign a huge helping hand,” Dougherty said in thanks. “Their support and the help of so many statewide volunteers positions us very well for Tuesday’s election.”

  1. Senator Casey’s endorsement of Dougerty is purely a political move on his own behalf to make nice with Johnny Doc . Judge Dougerty is a nice man but is not qualified for State Supreme Court. Money and last name are not qualifications.

  2. Did Sen. Casey actually go out and campaign with the others or just do a press release? The fact that he actually went out with Dougherty looks like a real endorsement to me.

  3. Sen. Casey also supports Judge Anne Lazarus and Judge David Wecht. You’ve reported those stories, and should have reference that here.
