Senator Casey has a solid $2.1 million cash-on-hand, Colby Itkowitz of the Morning Call and Tom Fitzgerald of the Inquirer report.

He has more cash on hand than several other incumbent Senators, including  Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Fitzgerald notes.

It’s the result of an impressive fundraising haul in the first quarter for Casey, $1.1 million, which the Casey campaign will submit to the FEC tomorrow.

Earlier previews of the race have listed Casey’s fundraising as a potential weakness for the Senator (one of a few), so this number is not likely to encourage Republicans considering a run in 2012.

It includes the standard range for the Pennsylvania delegation and Democratic incumbents, including pharmaceutical companies, labor unions, farmers, medical associations, as well as General Electric.
