CBS/YouGov Poll: Trump 47% Cruz 29% Kasich 22%

trumpThe GOP’s national front-runner is also the front-runner in Pennsylvania.

That’s the conclusion of a new CBS News/YouGov Poll of the Keystone State.

They found Donald Trump leading the Republican primary with 47%. Ted Cruz came in second with 29% while John Kasich was third with 23%.

These results run counter to the latest Franklin & Marshall poll that had Trump and Kasich within the margin of error.

While the New Yorker has seen a large gender gap in his general election polls, there was no real difference in this survey of Pennsylvanians. Trump got 47% from males and 46% from females. There was also no significant distinction between Republicans and Independents.

Trump also leads Cruz narrowly among tea party members (48/44) and evangelicals (43/42). The two are tied when it comes to very conservative respondents with each getting 45%. Meanwhile, Trump is ahead among moderates and conservatives.

Finally, the businessman is also ahead with all age groups with the exception of 18-29 year olds where he comes in third. Kasich prevailed among the youngsters with 44% and Cruz finished second with 36%.

This poll was conducted by CBS News and YouGov. They surveyed 729 likely Republican primary voters from March 29th to April 1st, 2016. The margin of error is +/- 5%.

  1. This is too funny. This whole “he’ll pickup blue collar whites” is a farce. Most of the ones who are voting for him have voted GOP in the past. And he’ll get DEMOLISHED in the Philly suburbs. If only the Dems didn’t manage to screw up PA 6 and 7 down ticket.

  2. It has been fascinating to watch Donald Drumpf single-handedly destroy the Grand ol Party.

But I still really want him to get the nomination he has EARNED.
