Delco Judge Christine Fizzano Cannon Jumps into GOP Commonwealth Court Race

JudgeFizzanoCannon-2Judge Christine Fizzano Cannon has announced she is jumping into race for the Commonwealth Court.  Cannon is currently the head of the Civil Trial Section of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.  Prior to that Cannon was a county commissioner for Delaware County and a Middletown Township Council member.

“I am running because I recognize that the decisions of the Commonwealth Court have far-reaching impact on the lives of Pennsylvanians, their businesses and our government,” said Fizzano Cannon.

“My service as a trial court judge, as well as my experience in municipal and county government in both official and legal capacities, provides a solid foundation that has uniquely prepared me to serve on the Commonwealth Court,” Fizzano Cannon continued.

There are two open seats on the Commonwealth Court that will be filled this year.  The court currently has six Republicans, one Democrat and two appointees.  Paul Lalley has also announced he is running for the Commonwealth Court.

  1. Query: How does PP determine the “intent” to impersonate? So it is OK if it is just coincidental? Or does it depend on “who” is offended? Or how much stink they make?

  2. Efforts to impersonate…blah blah blah. LOL. All PP has to do is assign a user name to a specific email account and block all others from using that user name. How hard would that be? Not much, as most comment blogs do as a matter of course.

  3. When she ran for public office in 2007 and 2011 her team did very well with fundraising . Also this was just issued by the Judicial Evaluation Commission of the Pennsylvania Bar Assiciation:

    COMMONWEALTH COURT OF PENNSYLVANIA

    Judge Christine Fizzano Cannon
    Rating: Highly Recommended

The candidate has since 2012 served as a judge on the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas where she heads the civil trial section overseeing both civil and equity matters. At the same time, she has served as pretrial judge, responsible for deciding more than 800 motions and petitions. Having graduated from law school with honors, the candidate has continued her legal scholarship by lecturing extensively throughout the commonwealth on various areas of law. The candidate’s legal writing is clear, concise and thorough. Her courtroom demeanor has earned the respect of her colleagues as well as that of the attorneys and litigants who appear before her. The candidate’s extensive civic activities add depth to her illustrious legal career. The commission believes that the candidate would perform admirably as a judge on the Commonwealth Court and highly recommends her candidacy.

  4. If an honest answer is given by anyone who has appeared before or practiced with her, it would probably be nice person, not appellate material.

  5. “this woman clearly has what it takes to win.”

Does she have money or the ability to raise large sums of it necessary for a statewide election? The PA GOP and it’s had picked candidates have done a lousy job recently for these down ballot judicial and row office races.

  6. You guys really didn’t listen. Fizzano Cannon was out of the country with her husband on a prepaid trip for their 20th wedding anniversary that was planned and paid for awhile ago. I am a Lawrence supporter, whatever Reilly and Val do has nothing to do with the fact that this woman clearly has what it takes to win.

  7. Charles, if what you say is true, then why is Delaware County supporting Val?

Also, it’s my opinion she should and her husband should have showed up. If other candidates don’t participateven in a Caucus meeting, they get shunned. Now Andy Reilly is trying to get the other candidates to drop so it “looks good” for Cannon. The shenanigans in the Southeast is about to grind to a screeching halt. Stay tuned!

  8. Cindy, you talk like a flaming Moron, Judge Fizzano Cannon comes from a County where matrimony means something! Wedding Annaversary are a very important part of married life! Nothing should come before being with your spouse on such an important day of married life! Thank God Delaware County is presenting a Candidate who believe in God, Country, and yes, married life!

  9. Paul – I commend you for striking a good balance, protecting Dr. Sklaroff without dumping anonymous comments. I also commend you for apparently taking the beer jokes in stride. Despite not particularly interested in hearing from some commenters, I’d like to think the Constitution survives.

As for the candidate, I’m curious to hear how folks think she stacks up against Ellen Ceisler. (Another reason to keep the anonymous comments around – to get an honest assessment of the candidates even when one of them is the former wife of Larry Ceisler.)

Will it be Leavitt-CohnJubelirer-Simpson-Brobson-McCullough-Covey-Wojcik-Ceisler-FizzanoCannon in 2018?

  10. This will be the year of the woman on the court races. GOP smart to put up women because they know what is coming.

  11. Trumper, people are entitled to post their opinion on this site. Of course, intentional false facts are different. Also, just because there is an ip address or email associated with a comment isn’the enough to take legal action, they would also have to prove who actually posted the comment from that address. The Russians did it! Ha ha!

  12. We have a great, qualified female candidate in Fizzano Cannon.

How do I know? Because we both served together on Republican State Committee together. I would’ve voted for her whether she was there in person, by video, or without a video. She’s a great candidate. Period.

Cindy comes across as a political hack with either a jealous streak or an ax to grind.

  13. Cindy, you are no better than that liberal blogger down in Maryland who Melania Trump is suing for slander. I hope you realize that a court can force websites to release the email address and IP address of posters. I know that if I were the candidate I would be pursuing my legal options against completely fabricated claims like yours.

  14. This is Andy Reilly’s pick, who didn’t even have the decency show up at the Southeast Caucus because it was her anniversary. Really? Every other candidate had to show up and be away from their families. Reilly went around showing a video of her. What a joke. Oh, and she somehow got the most votes!
