Gov. Tom Corbett took lumps in March when he suggested that women who wouldn’t want to view a mandatory ultrasound could close their eyes. But the real loser may have been Rep. Nick Miccarelli (R-Delco), who counted the statement among his best – if not most effective – pickup lines.

“I don’t know how you can make anybody watch, because you just have to close your eyes,” said Corbett at the time.

Corbett added, “But as long as it’s on the exterior, not interior” – a line used most commonly by Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler).
