CVA Targets Casey with Direct Mail Campaign

unnamed (2)Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is launching a direct mail campaign against Senator Bob Casey for his opposition to Supreme Court Nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch.

CVA has made the confirmation of Gorsuch a priority in its voter outreach so far this year.  This is its third wave of direct mail pushing for Gorsuch’s confirmation.

“Pennsylvanians deserve to see this vacancy filled as soon as possible and CVA activists will continue urging Casey to do the right thing until the moment Gorsuch is confirmed to the bench,” CVA Executive Director Mark Lucas said in a statement.

CVA is targeting Pennsylvanians it believes will be most likely to act in response to the mail piece.

Direct mail can be used to target specific voters who the organization believes will respond to the mail piece, but campaigns can also use these as a way to gain earned media, much like digital ad campaigns.

The Casey campaign declined to comment for this story.

  1. This is so bogus. And I’m offended by the idea of a direct mail campaign in this day and age.

  2. quickly, lets attack the kochs rather than discuss the merits of the nomination or casey’s reasoning behind his opposition!

  3. MAILING ADDRESS FOR THIS GROUP IS A UPS STORE IN ARLINGTON, BOX RENTAL IS PAID BY ANOTHER KOCH PAC

  4. IT IS THE KOCH BROTHERS FRONT GROUP – KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH!!!!
Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit whose major funders through the years have been the Koch brothers and their donor network; as such Sourcewatch.org considers CVA to be a Koch Brothers front group.[1] The Koch donors network appears to use CVA to advocate for reductions in federal spending, to attack the 2010 Affordable Care Act and to advance other “free market” policies.

  5. Funny how annoyed and angry all these commenters are considering that none of the groups/elected officials mentioned by them have EVER gotten any legislation passed that would actually help veterans like CVA’ has. Everyone knows that VoteVets is a front for the Democrats. Let me know when they get some legislation passed to reform the VA. @senatorRobertCasey is about as ineffectual as anyone in congress on just about every issue. To bad nobody talented is running against him for Senate.

  6. Wonder why Kochs didn’t object about Toomey blocking a vote on Merrick Garland for NINE months?

  7. Total Astroturf, 100% funded by Kochs and cronies of theirs. Maybe a dozen actual veterans are members. The largest veteran political groups by membership are IAVA and VoteVets.
