Daily News Wonders, “Was Dwight Evans a Bully in Charter-Operator Choice?”

New Jersey-based Foundations, Inc. will continue operating Martin Luther King High School in Northwest Philadelphia, despite the fact that the School Reform Commission and parents agreed that another company, Mosaica, should take over.

State Rep. Dwight Evans lobbied on Foundations’ behalf at last week’s SRC meeting.  The company has maintained a close relationship with Evans spanning two decades, and Foundations executives have contributed thousands to his campaign coffers.

Dafney Tales of the Philadelphia Inquirer has the story.

“State Rep. Dwight Evans has big plans for education in his Northwest Philadelphia neighborhood  – and it doesn’t look as though he’s going to let anyone stand in his way.”

“Teachers, parents and supporters of Martin Luther King High School are upset at the abrupt change last week in companies tasked with transforming the school, and they blame Evans for orchestrating it.”

“Evans took credit last week for lobbying district officials to give the school back to Foundations Inc., instead of Mosaica, a Georgia-based company that was the first choice of parents and the School Reform Commission to run the school as a charter next year.”

  1. It is important to search for the right Internet Reputation company if needed as they all have a different experts and prices vary. Some offer protection against Cyber bullying, too.

  2. Can one just say what a relief to find someone who actually is aware what theyre talking about on the net. You definitely know the way to bring an issue to light and allow it to be important. More people need to see this and understand this side on the story. I cant believe youre no more popular because you definitely hold the gift.
