Dalessandro’s Steaks and Hoagies, located at 600 Wendover Street and Henry Avenue, won our unscientific reader poll for the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia.
Dalessandro’s pulled in 29.3 percent of our 232 votes to easily outdistance the other five choices in our poll. Pat’s King of Steaks, John’s Roast Pork and Steve’s Prince of Steaks each drew 21 votes of support or 9.1 percent to end in a three-way tie for second place. Tony Luke’s (14) and Geno’s Steaks (10) trailed.
The overall winner was “They Ain’t Listed Here,” attracting nearly one-third of all responses (77).
Avenue Steaks & Pizza, Sonny’s Famous Steaks and Mama’s Pizzeria & Cheesesteaks were three of the others listed in our comments.
South Philly is ready for a Dose of Reality! Biden’s record-breaking inflation is making it harder for businesses like both Pat’s and Geno’s to stay afloat. A world without cheesesteaks? That’s just crazy! pic.twitter.com/NL1NrcTdK8

PA MAGA GOP should run a Philly Cheesesteak in place of Mehmet Oz for US Senate. The Cheesesteak is more widely popular in PA and is much more authentic to PA.
Philly Cheesesteak is also much better choice than Dung Mastriano for Guv.
