Yesterday, the 100th day since the start of the GOP congress, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee went on a full court press, hitting Republicans for votes they cast as harmful to working people and seniors.
But there was one name missing. Bucks County’s favorite DCCC target: Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick. It turns out DCCC was waiting one extra day to celebrate. They took the opportunity to remind the press about his embarrassing ‘oathgate’ scandal, wherein Fitzpatrick missed his swearing in ceremony to attend a fundraiser and had to be sworn in one day late.
“Since Representative Mike Fitzpatrick couldn’t be bothered to actually get sworn in to Congress on time, he gets to celebrate his 100 day anniversary alone, “said Josh Schwerin, Northeast Regional Press Secretary at the DCCC.
“But not to worry, Representative Fitzpatrick still managed to get to work dodging unhappy constituents, voting against protecting Pennsylvania jobs, getting tied up in Bush Administration ethics investigations, and is now celebrating his 100th day by voting to end Medicare. On second thought, maybe it’s a good thing he’s gotten one less day in office.”
