DCCC Launches Holiday Themed Digital Ad on Tax Reform Right After Tax Vote

The DCCC is launching a new digital ad targeting Congressmen Ryan Costello, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Pat Meehan over the Republican tax reform vote today.

The ads take on a holiday theme, saying Congressional Republicans are “stuffing the stockings” of corporations and leaving “a lump of coal for the middle class.”

“When House Republicans say ‘Merry Christmas,’ apparently it’s only to millionaires, billionaires, and large corporations,” DCCC spokesman Evan Lukaske said.

“Americans are making a list, checking it twice, and will hold Representatives Costello, Meehan and Fitzpatrick responsible for this tax scam next November.”

According to polling released by the DCCC, voters trust Democrats more on tax reform than Republicans by a 55-44 margin.

The DCCC says that Republicans are “being held responsible for this disastrous and irresponsible tax scam that their leadership has jammed through” in the release announcing the ads.  The DCCC argues that the middle-class will lose deductions that will cause their taxes to increase.

The ads will run on Facebook and Instagram going into the holidays.

The NRCC responded to the ads defending the bill, saying the reform will put more money into the hands of voters.

“Republicans are delivering on our promise that Pennsylvanians will wake up next year with more of their hard-earned money in their pockets. If Democrats think it’s a winning message to tell people their money would be put to better use in the hands of Washington bureaucrats and special interests, they’re destined for yet another crushing defeat,” NRCC spokesman Chris Martin said.
