DCCC Targets Fitzpatrick On Billboard During Holiday Weekend Rush

Some people use Twitter. Others Facebook Live.

Traditionalists still believe in good old-fashioned billboards to get their message out. And that is the tack that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is taking against Republican congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01).

The DCCC is launching a billboard campaign in an attempt to highlight what it calls Fitzpatrick’s “decision to place party politics over public safety,” referring to his refusal to condemn former President Donald Trump’s call for Congressional Republicans to defund law enforcement.

The billboard is located in Middletown Township, off Route 1 in Bucks County.

Trump used his Truth Social channel to call for GOP members of Congress to defund the Department of Justice and the FBI after his arrest last month on criminal charges in New York related to falsifying of business records in connection with the 2016 election.

When contacted for comment, 15 GOP offices, including Fitzpatrick’s, did not provide any comment on whether they back Trump’s calls.

“Brian Fitzpatrick has shamelessly refused to condemn the twice-impeached, criminally-indicted former president’s call to defund the law enforcement agencies that keep Pennsylvanians safe,” said DCCC spokesperson Viet Shelton. “Fitzpatrick has put party politics over public safety – and we won’t let Americans forget.”

Last week, Fitzpatrick and Maine congressman Jared Golden introduced the bipartisan Defund Cities That Defund The Police Act in honor of law enforcement officers for National Police Week. The bipartisan legislation would prevent federal taxpayer dollars from being used to bankroll cities that risk public health and safety by defunding police departments.

“As a former FBI agent, I know how committed our law enforcement officers are to keeping communities secure,” said Fitzpatrick. “Our brave men and women in blue are often the first to arrive and last to leave an emergency. Their dedication to public service is exceptional, and yet they are being threatened by radical politicians nationwide seeking to defund their departments.

“We must do everything possible to dissuade and prevent these misguided attempts. Law enforcement officials put their lives at risk every single day and deserve our unequivocal support. I’m proud to partner with Congressman Golden on this bipartisan legislation that ensures that federal dollars are not granted to cities that devalue public safety by defunding their police departments.”

  1. Fitzpatrick has NEVER contradicted any tRump or other extreem MAGA message and the local press always give him a free pass and never call him out.
Pa-01 voters need to get rid of this coniving duplicitous representative and elect Ashley Ehasz to Congress.

    1. I bet people who come on to a niche PA political site are swayed by your comment.
