December 13th Playbook

A majority of the state’s Democratic Congressional delegation signal their support for impeaching President Donald Trump, while a third Democrat enters the race for the 16th Congressional District. Here is the Playbook.

PA16: Third Democrat Joins the Race Against Kelly: The Mercer County Democrat, who works in finance and sales, said that his campaign priorities include bringing high paying jobs to the region, addressing climate change and education.

Krasner Returns Jab to Trump After Comments Made During Hershey Rally: After President Donald Trump called Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner the “worst District Attorney” at a rally Tuesday evening in Hershey, Krasner fired back by challenging him to a criminal justice debate.

DCCC Launches Digital Ad Campaign on HR3 Vote: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launched an ad campaign on Thursday afternoon following the passage of H.R. 3, which they described as “bold legislation to bring down the costs of prescription drugs.” The Facebook ads thank Reps. Matt Cartwright (D-Lackawanna), Conor Lamb (D-Allegheny), and Susan Wild (D-Lehigh) for voting for the legislation, while Facebook attack ads hit Reps. Mike Kelly (R-Butler) and Scott Perry (R-York) on voting no for the legislation. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Bucks), who is not included in the ad campaign, was one of the lone Republicans to vote for the Democratic backed legislation

Smucker Announces Delegate Run: Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Lancaster) alongside Lancaster County Commissioner Josh Parsons and York County Prothonotary-elect Allison Blew announced their intentions to seek the position of Delegate to the Republican National Convention. In a video announcement and press release, they announced that the three will team up to run for delegate in 2020 and are committed to helping President Donald Trump’s reelection effort. 

Joyce to Welcome Druz Czar to PA13: According to a press release from Rep. John Joyce (R-Blair) earlier this week, he is slated to host White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Director Jim Carroll today for two different roundtables in Adams and Franklin County to discuss the nation’s drug crisis and it’s impact on the community.

HD-156: State Rep. Carolyn Comitta (D-Chester) announced that she is seeking a third term in the state House.
