Allentown’s Congressman Charlie Dent vowed a thorough response to this week’s tragic explosion in his home town in an interview with PoliticsPA.

“It’s tragic. I knew the homes. I know those people. In fact they were good supporters of mine, Dent said. “We have an obligation now to help the people who were displaced.”

Dent recalled a similar gas mane explosion in the same neighborhood, at a senior center. The grid should be inspected, he insisted firmly.

“I’ve been communicating with emergency agencies on a state and federal level, and been in close contact with the local first responders,” he added. “I’m going to going over to the site tomorrow.”

Dent stopped by this weekend’s Republican state committee meeting on his way home from Washington D.C. He led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
