Former Vice President Joe Biden extended his lead over President Donald Trump in this key battleground district in the Lehigh Valley, according to this latest poll.
According to a new DeSales University/WFMZ poll of likely voters, Biden leads Trump by 19 points, 56%-to-37%, in the 7th Congressional District.
Sec. Hillary Clinton narrowly bested Trump in these congressional boundaries in 2016.
36% of likely voters polled in the district said that they approved of Trump’s job performance, which is a 4% decrease for the president in comparison to their previous poll released on Oct. 13.
This latest poll also shows Rep. Susan Wild (D-Lehigh) leading GOP challenger Lisa Scheller by 18 points, 54%-to-36%, in the district.
This poll, surveying 448 likely voters in the 7th District, has a margin of error of +/-4.4%.
This is the fourth public poll released in October for the 7th Congressional District that shows Biden leading Trump.
In the previous DeSales University/WFMZ poll of likely voters released on Oct. 13, Biden led Trump by 15 points, 54%-to-39%.
On October 1, Morning Call/Muhlenberg College released a poll that showed Biden leading Trump by 7 points, 51%-to-44%, among likely voters in the 7th District. On Oct. 21, a LehighValleyLive/Franklin & Marshall College poll showed Biden leading Trump by 7 points, 51%-to-44%, in the 7th District.
