Doyle Tests Positive for COVID-19

Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Allegheny) has tested positive for COVID-19.

Doyle sent out a tweet on Wednesday evening announcing that he tested positive, despite being fully vaccinated. He said he is experiencing mild symptoms and will be quarantining for 10 days in Washington D.C.

“Despite being fully #vaccinated and taking the appropriate precautions, I have tested positive for #COVID19 while in Washington for votes. I’m feeling okay and having only mild symptoms, but I’ll be quarantining in DC for a 10-day period, as the District of Columbia requires,” Doyle wrote on Twitter.

Former and current elected officials in Pennsylvania responded to Doyle’s tweet by wishing him a speedy recovery.

  1. Vaccinated are less likely to need hospitalization or DIE from breakthrough COVID. Vaccine not 100% protection, and was never advertised as such. But it is the best defense we have at this time.

  2. I heard it explained by the docs. Vaccinated and getting covid can happen but it is less common and fortunately less intense results. It’s a good reminder to get vaccinated. Best of luck for a quick recovery.
