Endorsements: Philadelphia Mayoral Race

At the end of the day, people endorse a candidate because they think they’re the best person to hold political office. But making that assessment involves thinking through a lot of factors about who the candidate is, what they stand for, and what their chances are.

Often times, citizens have a difficult time – or fail to make time – identifying candidates who share their policy views and are in line with their interests.

That’s where endorsements come into play. These may come from political parties, interest groups, media outlets, politicians, or even celebrities. Because these folks are well-known in the city or region, these endorsements are thought to be particularly persuasive cues.

Here are some endorsements that have been given to the various candidates in the Philadelphia mayoral race. This list will be updated.
