February 23rd Playbook

The PAGOP has called a special meeting to “consider the issues arising out of the impeachment and the path for our party going forward” for Wednesday night. Here is the Playbook. 

Toomey Censure? PAGOP Calls Special Meeting for Weds: The Pennsylvania Republican Party will hold a meeting on Wednesday evening to “consider the issues arising out of the impeachment and the path for our party going forward.”

SD22: Flynn Announces Bid for Dem Nomination: The Lackawanna County Democrat pointed to his record serving in the state House, plus advocating for “fair funding for our schools, to making sure the economic comeback from the COVID-19 pandemic does not leave northeastern Pennsylvania behind” in his announcement.

Young Democrats of Allegheny County Endorse Gainey for Mayor: The Young Democrats of Allegheny County have endorsed state Rep. Ed Gainey’s bid for mayor of Pittsburgh.  

Fontana, Kail-Smith, and Kraus Endorse Peduto for Mayor: According to a release from Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto’s campaign, state Sen. Wayne Fontana, City Council President Theresa Kail-Smith, and Councilman Bruce Kraus have endorsed Peduto’s reelection bid.

  1. Censuring Toomey for voting his conscience sends a warm fuzzy Hallmark card to the fringe of the Republican Party and alienates the traditional Republicans. The dumbest possible move imaginable. Beyond foolish.
