Former State Senator Mike Waugh sadly passed away today. He was fifty-eight years old.
Sen. Waugh resigned his seat last January because of health reasons.
According to York County Republican Chairman Alex Shorb, Waugh was battling cancer and died earlier today.
Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati and Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi released the following statement:
“Mike Waugh was a good man and a good friend. As a member of the General Assembly – first in the House, then in the Senate – he quickly became a statewide leader on agricultural issues. Mike earned universal respect from his colleagues with the quiet, determined way he approached issues.”
“He loved York County and worked tirelessly to advance issues important to his constituents. We are all better people for having known and worked with Mike. We will miss him terribly and extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.”
Waugh is survived by his wife Wanda, his son Joe, and his granddaughter Camden.

Larry’s a saint. Consider the source, Bob
@ Larry
Please explain.
Dr. Bob, Scott Wagner is still a piece of shit.
@ Mike
There was no evidence released that the resignation was health-related; the concern raised by Wagner was how the primary-process appeared to have been manipulated to favor the GOP-Establishment, and documents obtained by Guzzardi appeared to sustain his concerns.
Remember when that piece of shit Scott Wagner said the resignation had nothing to do with health reasons?
