Former Aide of Rep. Charlie Dent Launches Lobbying Firm in D.C.

K streetRepublican Congressman Charlie Dent’s former chief of staff, George McElwee, has teamed up with Keith Pemrick to start a new lobbying firm in the nation’s capitol.

McElwee served as Dent’s top legislative aide for more than nine years before he left the office at the end of 2013 to take a position with the Organization for International Investment.

Now, he has teamed up with Pemrick, a former aide of Democratic Congressman Tim Holden to start their bipartisan lobbying firm Commonwealth Strategic Partners.

This new firm has just announced a small list of clients, which includes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. McElwee’s firm will now serve as the subcontractor of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, the lobbying firm Gov. Tom Wolf’s office hired to represent the state in D.C. last month.

Dent congratulated his former staffer in a statement regarding McElwee’s new lobbying firm. In this statement, he praised McElwee’s policy expertise and professionalism.

“George’s tremendous work-ethic, unwavering loyalty, and exceptional leadership were vital to my work and a great asset to the people of the 15th District,” Rep. Dent noted.

  1. Wow Erich, that’s pretty pathetic even for you. Trying to shoe-horn a Bill Shuster dig on something couldn’t possibly have less to do with him is something I expect from you, but this is a bit ridiculous. Good luck keeping the dream alive though. How’s life in your mom’s basement?

  2. This is nowhere near as corrupt as Bill Shuster having a sexual relationship with a lobbyist.
