Fox News Poll: Biden 51, Trump 44

Former Vice President Joe Biden holds a several point advantage over President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania according to this latest poll.

The latest Fox News poll of likely voters in the Keystone State shows Biden leading Trump by 7 points, 51-to-44, while 2% said they don’t know, and 1% said they’d support some other candidate.

Biden extends his lead by 1 point over Trump among registered voters in the state. 51% said that they’d vote for Biden, while 43% said they’d vote for Trump.

According to the analysts at FiveThirtyEight, Fox News polling, conducted under the joint direction of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R), favors Democrats by an average of 1.4% and has an overall A- grade.

The race has tightened a bit in comparison to their previous Fox News poll released in July, although the amount of undecided voters has decreased as well. In that poll, Biden led Trump by 11 points among registered voters in the state, 50-to-39, while 4% said that they’d vote for some other candidate, and 6% said they don’t know.

When likely voters were asked who they would trust on the following issues, Biden has an advantage over Trump on policing and criminal justice (50-to-44), nominating the next Supreme Court Justice (51-to-42), and coronavirus (54-to-37). The lone issue of the four asked in the poll that voters sided with the president was on the economy, with Trump leading Biden (50-to-46).

Numerous polls released since last week show Biden leading Trump in the state, although the margin varies by the pollster.

A Trafalgar Group poll of likely voters released over this past weekend showed Biden leading Trump by just over 2 points, 47.3%-to-44.9%, in the state. A Reuters-Ipsos poll released on Monday showed Biden leading Trump by 3 points, 49-to-46. A Baldwin Wallace University Great Lakers Poll, in partnership with Oakland University and Ohio Northern University, shows Biden leading Trump by just under 3 points, 47.3%-to-44.6%, in the state. A CNBC/Change Research poll of likely Pennsylvania voters released on Wednesday shows Biden with a 4 point advantage, 49-to-45. Polling from the Elections Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison conducted by YouGov in collaboration with the Wisconsin State Journal of likely voters in the state also shows Biden with a 4 point lead over Trump, 49-to-45. Biden’s largest lead from polls this week comes from a Franklin & Marshall College poll released on Thursday morning that has Biden leading Trump by 6 points among likely voters, 48-to-42, and 9 points, 49-to-40, among registered voters in the state.

The Real Clear Politics Average shows Biden besting Trump by 4.7 points in Pennsylvania.

This poll surveyed 910 registered voters, including 856 likely voters, collected data between September 20-23. The margin of error for registered voters polled and likely voters polled is +/-3%.

  1. Trump’s been calling FoxNews “fake” because he doesn’t like their polling. The only poll he seems to like is from Rasmussen, which has become such an outlier, it’s becoming suspicious that they are just making up the numbers.
