Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are leading the field among Pennsylvania Democrats and Republicans respectively.
Those are the results from the latest survey from Harper Polling.
Democratic Primary
Clinton leads Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders 57% to 27% among PA Dems. These results are nearly unchanged from Clinton’s 56% to 28% advantage in January.
The former Secretary of State’s lead also extends to all demographics. Unlike in January, Clinton now leads with 18-39 year-olds (46-33). Additionally, while there is a large gender gap, Hillary leads among women (68-17) and men (44-37).
Republican Primary
Events move fast in presidential elections. For instance, this poll was conducted on March 1st and 2nd and includes Ben Carson, who dropped out on March 4th.
Nonetheless, Harper finds The Donald leading across the board.
Trump scored 36% while Florida Senator Marco Rubio took second with 19% and Texas Senator Ted Cruz got third with 17%.
Ben Carson received 11% while Ohio Governor John Kasich brought up the rear with 10%.
Head-to-Head
Clinton leads all potential Republican opponents. Trump, though, performs the best of all possible GOP nominees.
Hillary leads Donald 45% to 40% with 15% undecided.
The gender gap in this matchup is absolutely enormous. Among women, Clinton leads 56% to 30% while with men Trump is ahead 52% to 31%.
Clinton also leads Rubio (46-40) and Cruz (48-37) with fifteen percent still undecided in those hypothetical contests as well.
Harper Polling surveyed 662 likely voters through landline interviews conducted using Interactive Voice Response (IVR). The poll took place between on March 1st and 2nd. The margin of error is +/- 3.75%.

Andy – young voters would be even more pro-Hillary (when facing off against Trump).
1) I agree with Observer on the (in)validity of polls that rely on landlines. Younger voters are under-represented in the landline population.
2) The Harper poll cited in this brief didn’t report a Sanders-Trump matchup, perhaps because the pollsters think the Democratic nomination is settled. Think again!
Observer – Nope, you’re way wrong for one big reason:
Michigan primary=Open
PA primary=Closed
And that, my friend, will make all the difference. Hillary in PA by at least 15 points.
Hillary leads Donald 45% to 40% with 15% undecided
So, it will wind up: Hillary 60% Trump 40% 🙂
O – Hillary will be the next POTUS. You can take THAT to the bank.
Landlines. Welcome to 1985.
Landline-only polling?? LOLOLololol…. Good one!
Little clue here: Hills is not going to face Trumpery, she’s not even going to win the PA primary. And it won’t even be as close as Michigan. And as every legitimate poll has shown, Bernie beats Trumpster by a much wider than Hillster does. You can take that to the bank.
Please, stop publicizing worthless landline polls. As Michigan shows, it makes you look stupid.
