HD-81: Mike Fleck Concedes to Irvin

Mike Fleck, the first openly gay representative in the State House, lost the seat he was first elected to represent in 2006.

Huntingdon County Treasurer Rich Irvin, who beat Fleck in the GOP primary, led by 6 points with 74% of precincts reporting.

Irvin currently leads Fleck by nearly 800 votes,  6,643 to 5,874. At around 10:14pm, Fleck conceded the race to Irvin.

In December 2012, Republican Fleck announced he was gay. When he ran in the Republican primary in May, he lost to write-in candidate Richard Irvin. To add yet another twist into the race, Fleck was written in as the Democrati candidate primary, winning the primary by 15 votes.

The district includes all of Huntingdon County, as well as a small portion of southern Centre County and western Mifflin County.
