Houlahan Raises Over $580K in Q1

A Chester County Congresswoman and potential 2022 U.S. Senate candidate announced her campaign’s first quarter haul.

First reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jonathan Tamari, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Chester) raised over $580,000 in the first three months of the year and entered April with $3.5 million cash on hand.

“Chrissy raised over $580,000 in the first quarter, bringing her total cash on hand to $3.5 million,” said a Houlahan campaign spokesperson. “She is grateful to all the Pennsylvanians who continue to support her campaign and her vision for our Commonwealth.”

Houlahan is the first member of the state’s Congressional delegation to announce their first quarter fundraising results in 2021, although two declared U.S. Senate candidates in the state have released their numbers.

Lt. Gov John Fetterman announced that his campaign raised $3.9 million in the first quarter, while Jeff Bartos, a Montgomery County real estate developer who was the GOP Lt. Governor nominee in 2018, announced that his campaign raised $1.2 million from his campaign launch on March 8 to the end of the first quarter.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Houlahan, who has expressed interest in potentially launching a bid for U.S. Senate, recently held fundraising events with Sen. Cris Coons (D-DE) and Democratic consultant James Carville.

It is unclear how much Houlahan spent in the first quarter.

Houlahan’s $580,000 raised in the first three months of 2021 is the most she’s raised in an off-year election and more than she raised in the first quarter of 2020 (just over $415,000).

Houlahan secured a second term in Congress in 2020 to represent the 6th Congressional District by defeating GOP challenger John Emmons by 12 points.
