IBEW Local 375 Endorses Smith for Lt Gov

Commissioner Smith
Commissioner Smith

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 375 endorsed Bradford County Commissioner for Lietunant Governor.

This IBEW chapter represents 900 workers in the Lehigh Valley, and is one of the oldest and largest unions in the region.

“I’m extremely impressed and encouraged with Mark’s progressive, forward thinking approach to dealing with issues that affect the working middle class,” said Paul Anthony, Jr., Business Manager of Local 375. “The officers and members of the IBEW Local Union #375 are proud to endorse Mark’s campaign for Lt. Governor.”

The young Bradford County commissioner has been racking up the union support in his Lt. Gov. bid, and according to his campaign, this is his 15th labor endorsement. Just last month, the Lehigh Valley Building Trades Council — an organization comprised of 21 labor unions spread throughout Allentown, Bethlehem and the surrounding areas, endorsed him.

“I’m extremely happy to receive the endorsement of the working families and members of IBEW Local 375 in Allentown,” Smith said after the latest show of LV union support. “Receiving an endorsement from such hard-working, middle-class Americans is truly humbling.”

Despite the more than a dozen union endorsements, Smith faces a crowded and well-known field for the Democratic nomination. Former assistant football coach for PSU Jay Paterno, State Senator Mike Stack, former Rep. Mark Critz, State Rep. Brandon Neuman, Harrisburg City Councilman Brad Koplinski and former advisor to the City of Harrisburg Brenda Alton.
