Former Allegheny County Executive and current Allegheny County Republican Chairman Jim Roddey officially endorsed Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign on Monday.
Rubio is currently polling third in the latest Franklin & Marshall poll behind businessman Donald Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
“Marco Rubio stands out among the Republican contenders as the leader with the greatest understanding of how to meet the challenges of the world economy while putting American workers first, Roddey said. “Marco is an exciting, commonsense conservative who can unite our party and win in November.”
Rubio is seeking to be the preferred establishment candidate in the crowded Republican race, which makes an endorsement from the Chairman of Allegheny County, which has the most registered Republicans in the state, particularly important.
The Republican Primary is on Tuesday, April 26th. Team Marco PA is led by State Chairman Chris Bravacos and State Finance Chairman Bob Asher.
