Turzai to Resign June 15: House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) reflected on his nearly two decade long tenure in the Pennsylvania House in a farewell address.

Pence to Visit Western PA on Friday: Vice President Mike Pence is slated to participate in the first event for the “Great American Comeback Tour,” organized by America First Policies, in Sarver, PA, while also making several additional stops in the Pittsburgh region.

PoliticsPA: 2020 Primary Results Wednesday Playbook: The latest on every contested primary in PA: races that are over, races where a candidate leads, and races that are still tossups. 3 incumbents lost, another 5 trail.

Primary Election Update: 

LEADER: Ahmad Extends Leads Lamb in Dem Auditor General Primary: Former Philadelphia Deputy Mayor Nina Ahmad extender her lead over Pittsburgh City Controller Michael Lamb in the six candidate primary. As of Thursday morning, Ahmad had 462,000 votes, while Lamb had 395,000 votes. 

LEADER: PA9 Dem: Gary Wegman maintains a 5,000 plus vote lead, 13%, over Laura Quick in the race to face Rep. Dan Meuser (R-Luzerne). On Thursday, Quick held a slight lead over Wegman. 

INCUMBENT LEADS: HD22 Dem: This is a nail biter. State Rep. Peter Schweyer (D-Lehigh) leads Enid Santiago by 57 votes, which is slightly more than 1%, in this majority Latino district, according to county website results. The Allentown Morning Call reports that Scheweyer has declared victory in the race, although Santiago has yet to concede. 

INCUMBENT LEADS: HD39 GOP: Some mail, all in-person. State Rep. Michael Puskaric (R-Allegheny) has taken a small lead, fewer than 200 votes, in the race over challenger Tom Kirsch, according to the AP. This is a grudge match for the old Saccone seat; the former State Rep. backed Kirsch. The winner of this race will go up against Democrat Sara-Summer Oliphant in the fall. 

LEADER: HD75 GOP: Mike Armanini holds a 3 point lead over Lisa Becker in the three candidate race to succeed state Rep. Matt Gabler (R-Clearfield). The winner will face Democrat Ryan Grimm in the fall for the GOP friendly district. 

INCUMBENT LEADS: HD106 GOP: Some mail, all in-person. State Rep. Thomas Mehaffie (R-Dauphin) leads Chris Lupp and Mimi Legro in the primary. The winner of this race will face Democrat Lindsay Drew. 

LEADER: HD127 GOP: Vincent Gagliardo Jr. holds a slim lead over Branden Moyer in the primary. The winner of this race will face Democrat Manuel Guzman. The seat is held by state Rep. Thomas Caltagirone (D-Berks), who is retiring at the end of his current term. 

INCUMBENT LEADS: HD175 Dem: State Rep. Mary Isaacson (D-Philadelphia) holds a 528 vote lead, 7%, over Vanessa McGrath, Jeff Dempsey, and Andre Del Valle in the four candidate primary among in-person votes. The mail-in ballots will determine the outcome. 

INCUMBENT LEADS: HD182 Dem: State Rep. Brian Sims (D-Philadelphia) leads challenger Marisa Shaaban by 1,084 votes, 14%, with all of the in-person votes accounted for, while the mail-in votes are still coming in. The GOP candidate in this safe Dem district is Drew Murray. As of Wednesday morning, Sims only led Shaaban by 478 votes. 

INCUMBENT TRAILS: HD188 Dem: Rick Krajewski holds a 1,530 vote, 15%, over state Rep. James Roebuck Jr. (D-Philadelphia) in the four candidate primary. Krajewski significantly extended his lead as of yesterday morning, when he only led Roebuck by 438 votes. 

TOSSUP: HD198 Dem: Bernard Williams holds a 141 vote lead in the primary over Fareed Abdullah, while Darisha Parker and Supreme Dow also trail for the seat held by outgoing state Rep. Rosita Youngblood (D-Philadelphia). This race has shifted a bit since Wednesday morning, when Williams only held a 66 vote lead from second place. The margin between first and last place is also slim.
