Kane Indicates She May Not Run for Re-Election

KaneIs Kathleen Kane finally starting to cave?

For quite some time, the Attorney General has made it clear she refuses to resign and intends to run for re-election.

Now, however, she is indicating that she doesn’t believe she can seek a second term.

According to Angela Couloumbis of the Inquirer, Kane isn’t sure whether see is allowed to run for re-election now that her law license has been suspended.

“I believe you have to be a lawyer in good standing to be able to run,” she told the AP.

Additionally, Kane’s spokesman Chuck Ardo asserts that while she still wants to run, it would be difficult to reinstate her license by early next year.

Of course this begs the question, if she thinks she can’t run for re-election then why does she think it’s still OK to serve?

“Her statement just makes no sense in light of the fact that she is in staying in office,” former prosecutor L. George Parry told Couloumbis. “If she is not qualified to run for attorney general, then I don’t see how she’s qualified to be attorney general. It is that simple.”

Kane’s suspension goes into effect on October 21st.

  1. So first, I am not Kanesdriver and am not a shill. I am however an expert in how the law enforcement community looks at its own and making wild accusations about someone you should have more than a visit to a linked in profile. I mean seriously you think no one would do a search and say hey let me do a search on this guy? Your profile shows up in search results. I love that you think an investigation will happen because you posted this info. I visited your profile more than once. Out me.

  2. HaHaHa
The fact that he put his entire resume on linked in, with his home address and full career reveals more than anyone else could.

The case against the casino operator in the article was dropped. But, law enforcement went after him two months later for drug possession. Sounds like they were trying to target him for having the audacity to be innocent of the original charges they trumped up.

  3. Just your neighbor the cop says:

BTW, I already pranked SpongeBob last month by getting him to cry, whine, rant and rage that I’d hacked him (after he visited my website to view a cartoon of SpongeBob at a computer, and revealed his own address).

He was, to his credit, a good sport about it. Nevertheless, I made my point.

Marsili made the VERY bad judgment call to investigate my linked in profile just a few days ago and expose himself to scrutiny by his superiors. I’m sorry I won’t be there to for the ass-chewing he is likely to get on Monday (if he hasn’t already been called).

  4. Just your neighbor the cop says:

I don’t think SpongeBob is kanesdriver. The IP addresses I associated with him were in Springfield, PA and in Maryland on a cellular network. I even did get one hit from the pasenate server, but I can’t be sure that’s SpongeBob. If it were, that would mean his tech job was in government. That would match his boasts about the size of office/network he services, but someone like Larry the lecherous lawyer indicated he works in Harrisburg, and could have tripped the same wire.

But, the point here is that I post under my own name and Robert Marsili (aka kanesdriver) days of hiding from his bosses and talking smack about Kane (and looking into a private citizen for his political posts) are over.

  5. SpongeBobShillBoy !!!
Are you kanesdriver? Begging for help from from a law enforcement community that is now laughing at you? Yeah … Don’t hold your breath.

Even if Daino is wrong, he clearly isn’t doing anything wrong. But, judging from the reaction here by shills like you – and the disappearance of “kanesdriver” – Daino got it right.

I’m sure Kane is having his/ your server analyzed as we speak. This is gonna be fun to watch! And it will be more ammunition for Kane’s lawyers.

Next we need to see the truth about the leaks from the Grand Jury that was investigating Kane. Methinks all roads will lead to Kane’s political enemies.

  6. SpongeBob and Reasonable Rep-

There have only been a half-dozen views of my linked in profile in three months. There is no valid reason for Special Agent Robert Marsili to have looked at it in the past 4 days. ZERO.

The fact that his zipcode matched the zipcode of the IP addressed used by the poster kanesdriver is not even close to a coincidence. Is is A LOT more than “probable cause” for his bosses to haul his ass in for questions. Just the peek at my linked-in profile is sufficient to question him.

Further, what reason would the poster kanesdriver have to suddenly delete his disqus profile, if I had not correctly identified him and he sought to hide his public comments from his superiors and a potential slander suit from Kane?

I am VERY interested to know if Special Agent Robert Marsili used his work computer to do any searches on me, and I hope his bosses will look into that with a forensic review of his computers and account access.

It would be even funnier if he turns up on the porn email list, after having made such a point that porn emails don’t matter.

  7. Diano is once again trying to make it seem as if no other humans live in a zip code or that up addresses accurately map to zip codes. Again I wonder how the law enforcement brotherhood will take to someone labeling one of their own with tissue paper thin evidence.

  8. @ DD:

Hypocrisy abounds when you incessantly condemn influence-peddling yet “blink” when your gal is subject to this particular charge.

  9. I don’t understand how you’ve narrowed it down to one specific person based on the Lebo zip code? In certain instances, you would be able to trace my IP address to that same location.

  10. BTW, kanesdriver is really running scared. He just cancelled his Disqus profile he’s been using for the past 5 months (193 postings/comments) on Philly news and related sites. Comments now all disappeared. Poof. Must have done something wrong to try and destroy his evidence.

This is now a dead link:

  11. I would kick in to help Mr. Solar off get the psychiatric help he needs. Or at least get him a nice cup of tea.

  12. This says it allhttp://www.pacourtwatch.com/2015/09/25/america-wakes-up-to-find-its-judicial-branch-consumed-by-organized-crime/

  13. rsklaroff-

The rest of his letter claiming there was a “perception” of influence, isn’t damning either. Again, nothing.

  14. rsklaroff-

    What “damning” letter?

“Then-First Deputy Adrian King told the commission in an Oct. 2, 2013, letter that he chose Granahan for promotion because she was the most qualified candidate based on her experience as an assistant district attorney in Lackawanna County, according to the records.

    That doesn’t sound damning.

“In a Jan. 9, 2014, letter to Kane, which was part of the records obtained by The Morning Call, Ethics Commission Chairman John J. Bolger wrote that while there was no evidence Kane used her office to benefit an immediate family member, , her process created suspicion”.

Well “no evidence” hardly seems “damning”.

Once again, you are blowing smoke and imagining things that aren’t there.

Can PoliticsPA start a GoFundMe page to raise money for rsklaroff to get the proper psychological care he so desperately needs?

  15. @ DD:

The article doesn’t claim her practices were routine; that was her defense, despite the rather damning letter she received.

  16. rsklaroff-

No. The hiring pattern reflects people she knows/trusts and the article made it clear this is very commonplace and not unusual.

    HaHaHa-

Finally got you that info on kanesdriver you were asking about. Puts a lot of his statements in context as unprofessional and potential leaker.

  17. “The state Ethics Commission, acting on a request by state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-Butler, investigated Granahan’s hiring and determined it broke no rules, according to commission records obtained by The Morning Call.”

  18. It cracks me up how the Repervlican TEA-drinkers are OBSESSED with Obama and Hillary – our current POTUS and our next POTUS.

sklaroff – no one clicks on your links. FYI.

  19. @ DD:

Your reaction to my homework assignment – ‘graph by ‘graph – revealed your capacity to express humility [1], your tendency to “change” the topic [2] and your ultimate intent to “hope.”

You are channeling BHO, just as AG-Kane channels Hillary.

Notwithstanding your slip [1], you are now reduced to invoking BHO’s discredited mantra [2,3].

  20. Spongebob

Not just “someone”, but an agent of the A.G. office, who has NO business looking into me. It’s not some random recruiter trolling for resumes. The zip code match is no mere coincidence. The cops get warrants for a lot less than that.

He can explain it to his bosses.

  21. I think David’s luck is going to change for the worst. Making accusations saying the zip code associated with an IP address matches that of someone who visited your linked in profile. Wow that’s rock solid evidence. Oh wait. No it really isn’t. I truly think before making such an accusation you might think about the consequences of being wrong. But then again in going to enjoy what happens next.

  22. Rocco Reese

He publicly posted his name, address, phone number on linked in with his resume.

    SpongeBob-
The linkage is straight forward. He’s got no reason to be looking into me on linked in. His zip code matches the zip code of the IP address I already identified for him. He’s claimed inside knowledge about A.G.

You seem to think that he and his pals would engage in retribution, and act as though that’s acceptable behavior. His bosses can deal with him now, and explain how professionals are supposed to behave.

BTW, internet search turned up case from last year where he taped a roulette “dealer” claiming he could control the ball and “hit” numbers for customers. The case was eventually thrown out due to the fact that it’s not possible to control the outcome.

  23. David,
It’s a stretch to say the person whose profile you posted is the same that went to your site. You might want to rethink that type of accusation. I mean people in law enforcement are a brotherhood and making unfounded accusations likely does not put you in a good light with no real proof. You being an amateur Sherlock Holmes is not the same as….you know….real cops….who have real power. Your unfounded accusation probably does not bode well for you having a good luck streak in the future. But what do I know….

  24. “Rocco” is just another shill. Ignore him, Mr. Daino. He may even be kanesdriver – who has just been using different screen names. If he is “undercover,” he shouldn’t be. And just like so many who have been exposed in this affair, he should not be even be employed in law enforcement.

Either way – he is a criminal. And it just goes to show you what Kane has been up against. Imagine turds like him working for you and then doing what he has done here. Hope he has a good lawyer.

  25. David,

Do you have any clue what you may have done? If he works undercover you just caused him to be killed. Well done.

  26. rsklaroff-

The fate of Kane is (and always has been) beyond my control. All I can do is expose, explain, and condemn the methods and abuses by the GOP to remove her in their attempt to overturn an election. They would remove her for jaywalking if they could, as the actual charges are irrelevant.

We’ve learned that Fina (once cheered as an upstanding prosecutor) is a vile and loathsome creature spreading racism and sexism in the office and is wholly unfit for public service. (He also remains the odds on favorite as the leaker that Kane had dropped the sting case, and his handling of Ali will probably bite him in the ass if he’s called to testify by the remaining state legislator.)

Kanesdriver has now been exposed for his unprofessional conduct, and I can only hope that his superiors will look into his postings, claims and predictions of “insider knowledge”. Considering his 25 year career, he’s pretty deep in the old-boys-club mentality and resentment for his boss and an elected Democrat.

  27. @ DD:

Your presumed “revelations” [public and personal] haven’t stalled the juggernaut of efforts to remove AG-Kane; so much for your machinations and conjurings.

    The END is approaching.

Again, you may wish to start preparing your “bucket-list” of recantations, in anticipation of the date when [absent any horse-trading] your beloved AG-Kane is deleted.

  28. SpongeBob-

I tricked him into following a link to my site a month ago, just like I did to you. And, I also discovered that he previously had visited my personal web server weeks earlier.

I asked him on PoliticsPA how the weather was in Pittsburgh and he got real upset, and threatening.

But, he stopped posting as kanesdriver a month ago, so what reason does he have to go poking into my linked in page just 3 days ago? We haven’t had any interaction on PoliticsPA since (unless he’s under a different handle).

But, “kanesdriver” also made a lot of comments about Kane, quite unprofessionally about her personal/sexual life and indicating/implying inside knowledge and making accusations that could be considered libelous or slander.

Many of these postings were during business hours, and I hope the AG’s office will look into his computer activity as well as in case he used law-enforcement computers to search for me, and if he should be disciplined. Maybe he is a leaker as well.

But, a member of law enforcement has no business researching me for my political comments on this blog. I suspect that he has breached some ethical rules/standards with this behavior. It certainly seems like improper conduct for an agent regarding his boss, the AG.

I’m making this public so members of posting community here can see the internal forces against Kane and how they operate.

  29. @ DD:

The presumed “revelations” haven’t stalled the juggernaut of efforts to remove AG-Kane; so much for your machinations and conjurings.

  30. Diano,
How do you know what IP address he used to post to this site? Also is it illegal for people to look at peoples profiles on Linked in? I have looked at your profile several times as I have looked at several other posters on this site. But do tell how you know exactly what IP address he was using and that it maps exactly to those posts? Also I think if someone wanted to intimidate you it would be easy enough from what I hear….

  31. rsklaroff

The revelations around Fina and the rest of the porn/racist/sexist emails have shown people that the Old Boys Club mentality was pervasive (as she said). This has reinforced the realization that she is the victim of unfair political attacks by those seeking to cover-up their own behavior.

    aaron-
The office was a disgrace under Corbett (when these emails were commonplace).

  32. Just so sad how the AGS office went from being an office of justice and responsible action under Tom corbett and prior AGS to an office of disgrace and distrust under kane. Her lack of integrity and complete incompetence is baffling.

  33. @ Ha3:

There are too many entities attacking AG-Kane for her to be able to gain a definitive reprieve from any one of them, in exchange for anything substantive she can provide.

Remember, the longer she lingers, the longer the Dem “brand” is damaged.

In general, I haven’t been incorrect because I have consistently and correctly claimed the noose would continue to tighten around her, even as you and DD have incorrectly predicted that revelation of the FF-digression would somehow let her off of the hook.

  34. sklaroff wrong as usual. The last thing Fina & The Corbett Pervs want is a trial. That seems to apply to most of their investigations. Just look at the steaming pile of dung (sting) case. Comically, they just had Ali pay back a fraction of what he stole. Looks like they read my comments here … LOL ….

  35. @ DD:

At this point, there is no need for any dealmaking from the GOP perspective; she’s toast.

  36. aaron-

No. The state GOP has been trying to remove/impeach her since day one.

Fina and his lackeys have tried to cover up their misdeeds and poor job performance/ethics

Seth Williams tried to tarnish her, which could have help him run for AG.

Wolf wants his own AG in (like he wanted his own pick for State committee).

Stollsteimer is running for the job.

    rsklaroff –

The GOP would cut her a no-jail-time deal to get her to resign (because that’s all the want or care about).

  37. Diano – The GOP and “opportunistic dems” did not do this to Kane – she did this to herself. She clearly lacks integrity and cannot fulfill the role of AG. And quite frankly, I think this debacle clearly answers the important question of why is it that the AG has always been a republican until now.

  38. @ DD & Ha3:

“Bruce Ledewitz, an associate dean of academic affairs and professor of law at Duquesne University School of law, told Billy Penn this week that the temporary suspension of her law license — not a full revocation of that — paves the way for the state Senate to impeach her.”

    http://billypenn.com/2015/09/23/expert-heres-why-the-state-supreme-court-suspended-kathleen-kanes-law-license/

Her current message [about not running for re-election] is transparent: “I’m willing to go away next year if you’ll stop picking on me this year.” When she says she would need a “good standing” license to run, she is hypocritical, because she lacks that status in a month.

You both have resisted accepting the proposed pathway that I and others have carefully demarcated…towards her political demise; you again are advised to start walking-back your numerous rationalizations for her misconduct, starting with over-emphasis of the FF-gambit.

  39. Jack Stollsteimer’s supporters claim that Shapiro doesn’t have the legal experience to do the job.

It is interesting, because if you talk to Shapiro supporters about Josh’s lack of experience practicing law, they will say: “Well, it’s really an administrative job and the AG never tries cases in court.”

But, the real barrier is not a law license, but rather fundraising. Given the damage inflicted on Kane by the GOP and opportunistic Dems eyeing her job, she’s in an environment that would make it too difficult to raise enough money to run for reelection.

  40. Prudent remarks. A welcome sign. Cooperation is all-important at this critical juncture. Those who cooperate will most assuredly receive consideration, and can perhaps enjoy some semblance of normalcy (both personally and professionally) at a later date. Those who refuse to cooperate (and continue to entertain the ludicrous belief that they can win a protracted battle with federal law enforcement) will not.
