Kathleen Kane won’t be making the trek to the Capitol building.
According to Brad Bumsted of the Tribune-Review, the Attorney General will not testify during the State Senate’s hearing concerning her potential removal from office.
State Senator, and Chairman of the committee investigating Kane, John Gordner says that Kane isn’t expected to be at Tuesday’s hearing.
“She’s preparing a response at this point but she is not expected to appear,” Kane spokesman Chuck Ardo stated. “She does not believe there are grounds for removal and she doesn’t believe the votes are there for removal to proceed.”
A two-thirds majority vote is required. If that threshold is met, Governor Wolf can remove Kane under Article VI Section 7 of the PA Constitution.
The Governor has indicated that if the Senate votes to remove the AG, he’ll follow their lead.

And it was only after victims stood up to her that she went nuclear–but did she release everything? No. Just what she could trickle out to damage her “War” enemies. You are assuming there will even be a trial. I know Kevin Steele handled the PH for Republican Ferman. But, now that he is the boss in MontCo, I just can’t see him being stupid enough to put himself in the “circular firing squad” this whole mess has become.
Think about it – the star witness (Morrow) totally told two different stories. The corrupt ayy-holes running the grand jury run with the one they like (the one where Kane did something). But his original statement is that Kane did nothing.
There is a pattern here. People give statements. Then “prosecutors” like Fina and the “not-so-special” prosecutor get them to come in and say something different. Look at Beemer. He writes a memo detailing the serious issues with Fina’s steaming pile of dung (sting) case. He says that Fina targeting Blacks was improper and that the plea deal Fina doled out to his lawyer’s other client was “unjust.” Then they get Beemer to come in and say something different later. How convenient!! Of course – Beemer now has every reason to try to hurt Kane. It’s absurd.

My guess is that AG Kane’s defense will be that there is no credible proof that she illegally leaked protected grand jury material. There is really nothing to “believe” in that defense. The prosecutor will either have enough evidence or he/she won’t. That’s how the criminal justice system is supposed to work. Of course, when Frank Fina is involved, key facts detrimental to the accused always seem to get “leaked” to the Press. That is illegal and it makes it tough for the accused to get a fair trial – but that is the intent! Luckily for AG Kane on this one, Fina put himself, his Judge buddies, and the rest of the Corbett Pervs in play when he challenged the AG to a televised debate and mis-used grand juries to protect him and his friends. It didn’t work. And the world now knows who is be hid the bs case against Kane. Jurors will know too.
