Nation’s Leading Voice for Small Business Supports Kelly Economic Agenda

Butler, PA – Mike Kelly (R-Butler) was endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) at a news conference today at NFIB member company, Bioptechs, in Butler County.  Kelly is the owner/operator of Kelly Automotive in Butler, PA and is the Republican nominee for Pennsylvania’s 3rd congressional district.

The National Federation of Independent Business is the leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals.  NFIB’s mission is to promote and protect the right of its members to own, operate and grow their businesses. “Mike Kelly’s personal experience as a small-business owner has helped to shape his positions and the priorities he’ll fight for in Washington,” said NFIB State Director Kevin Shivers. “Those top issues include opposition to a flawed healthcare law and support for reforms that actually will help lower healthcare costs for small business owners and their workers. He also supports targeted tax cuts to help small business, including extending individual tax rates and killing the death tax. Mike Kelly knows what it takes to make payroll and he has created good-paying, family-sustaining jobs. We need his experience and leadership in Washington.”

Kelly has campaigned on a pro-growth economic agenda that includes corporate and individual tax reform, federal budget reform, and strategic investment into capital access and job training for America’s small businesses.  He has toured dozens of small businesses up and down the 3rd congressional district during the campaign.

“I am very proud and humbled to have the support of NFIB,” commented Kelly.  “We have been talking about creating pathways to prosperity this entire campaign and one of the ways we do that is to make it easier for our real job creators, small businesses, to do business here in America.  This formal support from the nation’s leading small business advocate is truly an honor and will be a huge boost to our campaign this final week.”

Dan Focht, President at Bioptechs, hosted today’s event and commented that he and other small business leaders are looking forward to having a successful businessman like Kelly representing their interests in Congress.  “I am looking forward to having Mike Kelly representing this area from an experienced businessman’s perspective.  We desperately need someone that understands the importance of providing a hospitable environment for business and productivity.  The success of Pennsylvania and America depends on our productivity.  If our legislators continue to pass laws that inhibit our productivity our economy and way of life will continue to collapse.  As I see it, the most effective and compassionate job the government can do for its people is to recognize and improve our domestic productive business environment.  This will create real long lasting jobs, improve our economy, and re-establish our domestic infrastructure.  I know that Mike understands this and is committed to making our region of Western Pennsylvania economically strong.  Mike knows that government, education, public services and defense requires money.  He also knows the way to do this is through increasing productivity and correcting the errors in our trade laws, not raising taxes on the very sector of our society that generates jobs and revenue.”
