The National Organization for Women endorsed Harrisburg City Councilman Brad Koplinski in the race for Lieutenant Governor.

“For many years, Brad Koplinski has been committed to not only women’s rights and Choice, but social and economic justice as well. He is a Progressive leader and will be a great partner for the head of the ticket that takes on Governor Corbett in November,” Caryn Hunt, President of Pennsylvania NOW said.

“I am extremely pleased and honored to receive the endorsement of NOW. For decades, it has consistently fought for Progressive ideals and ideas and has changed America for the better,” Koplinski said. “I look forward to working with them as we both fight for equal pay, marriage equality, reproductive rights, greater diversity and understanding, a living wage and other vital issues in Pennsylvania.”

NOW was founded in 1966 and is one of the largest organization of its kind with 19 chapters across Pennsylvania. PA NOW also endorsed Shaughnessy Naughton in PA-8 and Billy Smith in HD-164 in their Democratic primaries.

Also running for Lt Gov are Bradford County Commissioner Mark Smith, former Congressman Mark Critz, State Rep. Brandon Neuman and State Senator Mike Stack.

Stack and Koplinski appear to be trading socially progressive endorsements as last week, Stack racked up the support of three LGBT organizations in the state.

  1. Brad was warmly received Saturday at the Berks County Democrat meeting. He was the only state wide candidate to pesonally attend the meeting.

  2. Does NOW have any credibility? I mean, they endorse men over women all the time. How does that achieve their stated mission? As a woman, I am confused to say the least. I’m incredibly upset they endorsed Margo Davidson’s opponent. Any one who knows Margo or has met her knows that she is one of our strongest voices in the state legislature (which I’d like to remind you has almost no women!). The only explanation is that this organization pure insider…someone help!

  3. Brad can get all the endorsements he wants but he isn’t known and is the only one with worse funding than Critz! If he truly does support women he will make sure women know what kind of guy Critz is and how he makes rape jokes at women’s events!
And depending on what part if the state it is NOW really has no recognition!

  4. I’m voting for Brad. He is a good man, and he also has been to every county and some more then once. Actually he is one of the few that has been to every count. That shows he thinks everyone’s vote matter beyond Phila and Pitts. I think he will do better then people expect and I hope he wins.

  5. Without adequate funding and a great ground organization, Koplinski is toast. Nobody will know him come May 20th except some activists who oppose cracking.

  6. Brad is right on all the issues, including the moratorium on fracking, and not afraid to say so!!! Go Brad
