Marino Officially Running for Re-Election

Congressman Tom Marino (R-Lycoming) declared today he is officially running for re-election.

“I am running for re-election to continue to fight for the people of the 10th Congressional District.  I look forward to having  serious discussions on the issues facing our nation and will remain focused on working closely with President Trump to pass tax reform, repeal and replace Obamacare and fix our broken immigration system by building a wall.  Out of respect for the upcoming holiday season, I will not be engaging in any campaign discussion or activity until the first of the year,” Marino said in a statement today.

Marino’s statement comes the day after he got a primary challenger.  The challenge focused on Marino’s roll in a law that critics said undermined the DEA and contributed to the opioid crisis.

  1. Wow, old “Opioid Tom” is going to run again, to bring more heroin overdoses to the people of PA?

After he had to resign in disgrace from his position as U.S. Attorney because he was under investgation by the Dept. of Justice for his ethics violations in office, you’d think Pennsylvanians would have rejected him then. After going to work for Ba-Da-Bing DeNaples, with his ties to the Buffalino mafia family, you’d think that Pennsylvanians would say “NO” to someone in the pay of the mafia. And after he was caught judge-shopping to overturn his friend Jay Kilheeney’s cocaine trafficking conviction, yo’d think THAT would have done him in. Well, we say NO to this fourth-rate Tony Soprano now. NO to his judge-shopping. NO to his ethics violations. NO to his mafia ties. NO to his dirty telecom money. NO to his efforts to keep heroin and opiates flowing freely into Pennsylvania.

We cannot let Opioid Tom kill more citizens. We can’t keep voting for him while this charlatan steals from us and brings drugs into our state and judge-shops for his friends who traffic cocaine into PA. SAY NO TO OPIOID TOM MARINO.

  2. I think for you made the right choice Tom Marino is to run for reelection in 2018 and i will support you no matter what of what happens from here.

  3. Why not? Where else can you get a job where you can almost do nothing and get paid for it? The real work is the campaign.

  4. “The challenge focused on Marino’s roll in a law that critics said undermined the DEA and contributed to the opioid crisis.”

Marino’s participation really BREAD some hostility toward him. I wouldn’t be surpRYEsed if a decent challenger were to really BAGUETTE a lot of support from Marino’s base because of it. Let’s go McLinko – BREADSTICK it to ’em!

  5. Really? Where have you been for the last 536 days (since your last open town hall meeting)?
When are you going to respond to constituents’ letters?

  6. It’s not Christmas season?

“Out of respect for the upcoming holiday season, I will not be engaging in any campaign discussion or activity until the first of the year,” Marino said in a statement today.
