State Treasurer Rob McCord picked up more than a dozen county-level endorsements today for his gubernatorial campaign.

“Pennsylvania is an incredibly diverse state, and I’m honored to have the support of leaders from urban, suburban, and rural communities from all over the commonwealth,” said McCord in a press release.  “I consider it a market signal that our commitment to investing in middle class families and creating opportunities for success is the right approach for our future.”

County commissioners announcing their endorsement of McCord today include:

Tony Amadio, Beaver County Commissioner
Joe Spanik, Beaver County Commissioner
Dan Donatella, Former Beaver County Commissioner
Kathi Cazzone, Chester County Commissioner
Vince Zapotosky, Fayette County Commissioner
Patricia Evanko, Indiana County Commissioner
Craig Lehman, Lancaster County Commissioner
Larry Maggi, Washington County Commissioner
Harland Shober, Washington County Commissioner

McCord’s campaign already won the support of 20 county party chairs last month, but now adds four current and one former chair to that list:

Sullivan County Chairwoman, Germaine Donahue
Schuylkill County Chairman Edward M. Kleha (Former)
Franklin County Chairwoman Sheri Morgan
Beaver County Chairman, Michael Sisk
Schuylkill County Chairman, Hugh Reiley

“I’m proud to support Rob McCord for governor, “ said Washington County Commissioner Larry Maggi.  “I took a good look at all of the candidates and there’s no one else who combines his experience and his ability to get things done. I know he understands how important it is to invest in our families and I trust him to deliver real results as governor.”

McCord has also had great success picking up union endorsements, including AFSCME, IBEW Local 5 and UFCW Local 1776.

Other Democratic candidates for governor include Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, former DEP Secretaries Katie McGinty and John Hanger, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski and businessman Tom Wolf.

  1. Schwartz has never met a corporate lobbyist she didn’t like. She is entirely owned by corporate fat cats. McGinty and her husband are subsidiaries of the fracking industry. Anyone but these 2. If you need to vote for a WOMAN, just because gender is your overriding criterion, vote Jo Ellen Litz! She can beat Corbett also—as can any Democrat. Although I question whether Schwartz can win west of the Susquehanna—Corbett would love to have Schwartz as his opponent!

  2. Brittany Foster congrats on joining PoliticsPA. So far I’ve seen that Allyson Schwartz’s natural gas tax will fund pre-k, a college program and a state infrastructure bank. You should do some investigating as to whether or not its possible to deliver all these goodies.

  3. Now if only the voters can endorse him 6 years treasure comes in 3 in every poll i see a woman winning next year
