Seventeen days after the primary election, Dave McCormick has conceded the Republican U.S. Senate nomination to Mehmet Oz.
“What an honor it’s been to go across the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to meet so many great Pennsylvanians,” said McCormick. “We saw an historic turnout in the Republican primary. I’ve renewed a bunch of old friendships. We’ve been blessed by an incredible campaign team. And we came so close by the slimmest of margins. That’s what it’s all about. And today I called Mehmet Oz to congratulate him on his victory.
I will do my part to try to unite Republicans and Pennsylvanians behind his candidacy, behind his nomination for the Senate.
It is so important for Pennsylvania that we beat John Fetterman. And it is so important for the country that we take back the Senate in 2022. He has my full support and I wish him and Lisa well in the next phase of the campaign.
This is my home, this is our home. This is where my dreams were launched and this is where we plan to have a future.”
Tonight is about us all coming together.”
McCormick’s campaign said they were dropping all of their pending legal cases, including a request for a hand-recount in 12 counties.
