Meuser Endorses Sunday for Attorney General

Dave Sunday, Dan Meuser

U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser (R-09) has announced that he is endorsing York County District Attorney Dave Sunday for Pennsylvania Attorney General.

“Dave Sunday will be a great Attorney General and he has my full support,” Meuser said in a press release. “Dave is a veteran prosecutor and someone Pennsylvanians can trust to protect all its residents, particularly our most vulnerable.

“Too often, extreme liberal interests are backing candidates who are pledging not to make arrests or prosecute crimes. This lawlessness has resulted in record crime rates. We can trust Dave Sunday to reduce crime rates and prosecute criminals appropriately,” said Meuser.

Sunday adds Meuser’s backing to endorsements from The Republican Attorneys General Association, State Treasurer Stacy Garrity, Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-11), Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-Westmoreland), The Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association PAC, and state senators Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) and Mike Regan (R-York).

“Dave understands that our Commonwealth’s future hinges on government’s ability to provide safe streets and communities,” continued Meuser. “No one, no family, no business wants to relocate to a state that is not safe and secure. Dave gets that. He will play a critical role in establishing Pennsylvania as the premier place to work, live and raise our families.”

“Dan Meuser has been a staunch advocate for safe and strong communities in Congress. His work to revitalize neighborhoods, increase education and workforce development and advance our national security has been a tremendous asset to our Commonwealth and nation. I am proud to call Congressman Meuser a friend and honored to have his support for Attorney General,” commented Sunday.

Sunday is one of three candidates competing for the GOP nomination, along with former Delaware County District Attorney Kat Copeland and Rep. Craig Williams (R-Chester/Delaware).

Five Democrats are in the race to succeed Michelle Henry, who is not seeking the position, including Rep. Jared Solomon (D-Philadelphia), former state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, former federal prosecutor Joe Kahn, former head of Philadelphia’s public defense lawyers Keir Bradford-Grey, and Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.
