“Pennsylvania is in desperate need of a tested, experienced prosecutor”.
That is how Northampton County DA John Morganelli introduces himself to voters in his new ad.
After rattling off his resume, which includes 25 first murder degree convictions and being the longest tenured DA in Pennsylvania, he moves on to his three main points of his campaign.
First, he wants to bring back former Governor Ed Rendell’s proposal to eliminate parole for violent criminals.
Second, Morganelli is looking to keep guns out of the hands of children, criminals and the mentally ill.
Third, and finally, he wants to make the system more fair for the poor, the mentally ill, and the drug dependent.
“With your support and your help, we can move Pennsylvania forward,” Morganelli concludes.
Morganelli is running against Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro and Allegheny County DA Stephen Zappala in the Democratic primary.
